“I am a woman living a life of simple abundance.” – Terrill Welch
When applying her creative juices, Terrill Welch has many forums in which to grow.
Terrill’s work, in water mixable oil paints and photographic canvas prints, showcases the beautiful, mysterious and rugged southwest coast of Canada. In addition to her landscape work, Terrill has an ongoing summer affair with still life photography and painting.
Though locally appreciated, Terrill Welch is internationally recognized. Her paintings and photographs are sold to art collectors throughout Canada and the United States as well as in Australia, England, Norway and Switzerland.
Terrill Welch is named as one of 21 Artists to watch for 2011 by Skinny Artist in its world-wide review.
Terrill”s work is in collections that also include such renown Canadian landscape painters as Emily Carr, A.Y. Jackson and Lawren Harris.
As an artist, Terrill sold her first oil painting when she was fourteen years old and had two successful solo watercolour art shows in the late 1990’s in Prince George B.C., Canada.
Terrill’s 3rd solo exhibit Sea, Land and Time, Sept 3 – 22, 2010, featured her oil paintings and photography at the Mayne Island Reading Centre (the library).
Terrill’s 2012 solo exhibition of original oil paintings STUDY OF BLUE was held at the Oceanwood Resort on Mayne Island from June 30, 2011 to July 27, 2011. Only four out of fifteen of the paintings in this exhibition remain available.
As a photographer, Terrill first became interested in photography to allow her more flexibility when painting. Over time, her photographic images have developed into their own art form.
