What is this? You guess it. I am announcing the release of my coffee table book PRECIOUS SECONDS – Mayne Island in paintings and photographs is now available through Blurb self-publishing. You can view the first 15 of the 50 pages of paintings and photographs that you know and love.
You may make your order today. Isn’t that fun?
The material quality of Blurb books is excellent. However, they are a wee bit pricy. Therefore, I will not be carrying this publication as inventory so that I can keep the purchase price as reasonable as possible. Online in the Blurb store is where you shall find this latest addition to my printed work. Enjoy.
Sprout question: What creative surprise do you have to share this week?
Happy September New Year!
I will be sharing more about my fall schedule and offerings on Friday. Best of the week to you 🙂

How wonderful and I loved the sneak preview, you are so talented and perfect timing for holiday gift giving…impressive
Surprise: after two months of fighting with the new newsletter program at WISE EARS…I am getting rid of it and just doing a newsletter on the blog…and I found a friend who spelled out SEO Keywords and I am attempting my first post tomorrow
That seems like a brilliant surprise Patricia! Look at you go! I have virtually given up on email as a means of communication except for project specific things or sharing files.
I am hoping that people will think of this book for birthdays and Christmas. It has that kind of special the quality to the materials that should lend it self well to gift giving. We shall see.
Oh, I just went out and gave my eyes a wonderful gander and your gorgeous coffee table book. And now I know exactly what to hint to Len for for my birthday 🙂
Sprout question: What creative surprise do you have to share this week?
I can’t tell you just yet. However, I can give you a little hint. It will be posted on http://blackwatertown.wordpress.com/ tomorrow (Wednesday, Sept 7th).
Oh good Laurie! I just mentioned to Patricia how I felt this book lends itself well to gift giving – or gift receiving for that matter. I won’t say a word either if he takes your hint. You are going to just have to wait it out until the day arrives.
So tomorrow we are going to have to all come over and see what is happening at the Blackwatertown blog. We will try to be orderly and not trip all over each other peeking through the curtain while you are trying to look poised at center stage. Okay, we might whistle and cheer but be sure we will try and get our timing right so as not to be too distracting.
Terrill,
Once again, I think this is awesome! Congratulations!!!
Thanks Jeff! I do appreciate your taking the time to comment in more than one venue. Means a lot to me to have your support.
I visited yesterday so that I could catch this post. I missed it–but I’m here now. It was my pleasure to view the entire book. It is truly beautiful! Congratulations Terrill.
What creative surprise do I have to share?
Well, yesterday I heard about the CBC short story contest. Inspired, I grabbed a pen and wrote. I finished my 1, 250 word story a few hours later. It now sits waiting to visit my writers group. : )
For a quick moment there Leanne I thought “What did I do? Can people now view the whole book?” Then I remembered “of course, you were at my home and studio for tea. You viewed the proof copy in its entirety. What a great surprise you have for us. Good luck with the submission Leanne!
The book looks clam and graceful – the preview shows it off well.
Thanks Paul. I am glad you think so and that is an excellent story you featured of Laurie’s today!
My birthday copy has been ordered. Oh, I’m so excited!
Yiiiiippppeeeee! Nice one Laurie! I am not sure how he ever managed to figure out what you wanted but I hoping you will be thrilled that he took the hint and here is to enjoying the book for your birthday and many days to follow.
Dear readers, there are other sales as well. Thank you to all who have put their order in. Note: I won’t know who you are unless you tell me. It is just like redbubble – the “who” of purchases remains with the host.
So wonderful how you paired the photographs and the paintings in the book Terrill. Blurb’s book quality is fantastic.
What creative surprise do I have this week? I finished a painting! I must be the slowest painter ever, it took me two months. 🙂 I’ll post it on my blog this Friday.
I will be keeping an eye out for Friday’s post Kat. Congratulations. Yes, Blurb books are of excellent quality which is nice when creating a specialty product. For art work and photography it is important that it is on good paper. Nice that they can deliver on that aspect.

I will definitely be treating myself to one of these treasures very soon! It’s breathlessly beautiful, and it’s the next best thing to taking a flight to Mayne Island. Congrats on this terrill.
I guess the creative surprise this week will be my Thursday musical countdown review of Tim Burton’s SWEENEY TODD, that I am entrusted to write the review for.
Sam, more than anyone else, I think you will greatly enjoy this book. I will keep my eyes open for your review.
Readers –
This evening I sat down with a glass of wine to enjoy Terrill’s new book. The description on the wine label said:
“This wine shows a heady nose of chocolate, deep rich blackberries, red fruits, and a creamy mocha finish that is unmistakable in its intensity and length. It’s reminiscent of a blackberry chocolate cupcake with a mocha coulis.”
If that description sounds good to you, let me say that turning and savoring each page of PRECIOUS SECONDS was an even more delicious treat! One that I will indulge in over and over again!
Okay, Laurie I will have some of that wine too please…. and I bet you I can tell anyone what it is and where you found it 😉
Thank you so much for sharing your experience of your first read of PRECIOUS SECONDS. It gives me such deep pleasure to know that this book is with you to be read and viewed and pondered with a moments notice. And, I think Len is very astute to have figured out what you were hinting at for your birthday 🙂 And, I know you have birthday someday soon but I am not exactly sure which day it is…. so Happy Birthday and the best of another year. Warm hugs Terrill
