Storm Clouds over Strait of Georgia – postcard oil painting by Terrill Welch

The oil on paper painting “Storm Clouds over Strait of Georgia” is such a small surface at 12 x 16 cm it ends up feeling abstract when viewed this close. I have smoothed down some of the meringue type edges since taking this photograph but this is basically it and it is now drying in preparation to be be shipped to the #twitterartexhibit   in L.A.

  1. Terrill – “Storm Clouds Over Strait of Georgia” is beautiful. I love the three-dimentionality of it!

You asked: “If you could wave a magic wand, what particular Terrill Welch painting or photograph would you like to add to your collection this season?”

It’s a tie between “Alone by the Sea” and “Breaking Through.”

“Alone by the Sea” brings to mind my dream cottage in the Highlands of Scotland, and “Breaking Through” features my favorite living creatures – trees.

    • Ah yes, Laurie I can see “Alone by the Sea” out of the corner of my eye as I write this. Such a pleasant memory this painting brings to you. Of course, “Breaking Through” already has a home but if their we’re no obstacles it would offer you many a meandering moment into the trees with the mist.

  2. “Storm Clouds” is another beauty Terrill, and quite an acquisition for the lucky art lover! It’s an abstract feast for sure.

Your ravishing arsenal is so difficult to pare down. Just recently I fell in love with the likes of “Navy Channel Early October,” “Autumn Sliced With A Tear,” “Quince Still Life” and two paintography canvasses, “Orange Sun on the Sea” and “Mayne Island Japanese Garden.” “Window” is lovely too, but so are many others. “Tress in the Mist” yields the mysterious beauty of this sensory stroll in the woods too. You really don’t seem to know any other card game Terrill, than the “stacked deck.” Ha!

    • Sam you can name so many! I think it is you that is holding the cards to my work here – what a hand to share with us 😉 It makes my laugh that deep belly laugh that is mixed with warmth, pride with just a hint of embarrassment that you so affectionately regard such a large number and varied pieces of my work. Thank you Sam. Your support and interest means a lot to me.

STORM COMING THROUGH – oil painting by Terrill Welch

It is that time of year when the winds whistle the rain and mist through the trees and out over the rough water. I am sharing this 24 x 36 inch oil on canvas painting as part of the Week
end Art Market Place curated by Matt Shalvatis on G+
The painting is is available in the Artsy Home online gallery at:

    http://www.artsyhome.com/product/storm-coming-through

The painting is being offered with a $200 discount and free shipping until Sunday evening at 11:59 pm PST. However, don’t hesitate to use the “make an offer” option 🙂 Several paintings of mine have found new homes through this process.

  4. Here is the second and final contribution to this weekend’s Weekend Art Marketplace that is being hosted on G+

REACHING OUT – photograph by Terrill Welch

This one is a straight up link with no special offer or incentive. It will be available long after any holiday hype; long after all the presents are wished for, wrapped, given and discarded. So relax, enjoy checking it out and reading about some of its history. I share it with you for the pure pleasure it can bring simply by spending some time with the image.

All the best of a December Sunday to you! 🙂

A little history about this open photography print: An extra-large canvas print sold at $200 more than its disclosed retail price of $310 (Canadian) in a fundraising auction last year. It now hangs above the new owner’s bed providing an impression of seaside slumber. The buyers made a specific point of letting me know just how much they enjoy the image and that it has been well worth the investment.

This fine art photography print is also available in my Redbubble storefront at http://www.redbubble.com/people/terrillwelch/works/6392080-reaching-out
